Leonardo da Vinci's (c. 1690-1730) drawing for a calculator. This is one of the first mechanical "computers" produced in the Western world. Much of my early indexing experience involved back-of-the-book indexing computer manuals, including books on programming, databases, and numerous software and online applications.
